Ukraine: Ban on films featuring Russian actor who supports separatists

Ukraine has banned films and tv-series featuring Russian actor Ivan Okhlobystin, who recently visited the Donbass region controlled by separatists.

Ukraine’s expert commission on film exhibition has ruled that exhibition licenses for over 70 films starring Okhlobystin should be revoked, announced Yuri Artemenko, head of the National Council for Television and Radio, on his Facebook page.

Ukraine: 500 Russia actors and performers blacklisted

500 Russia singers, actors and writers who supported the annexation of Crimea will be banned to travel to Ukraine, interior minister adviser Anton Herashchenko wrote on Facebook on 4 August 2014.

A number of renowned Russian actors and performers condemned the invasion of Ukraine, including rock star composer and singer Andrei Makarevich.

Some of them have asked for a political asylum in Ukraine, protesting against Putin’s tyranny.
