On 13-15 August 2014, the Moroccan rapper and member of the 20 February protest movement did a 48-hour hunger protest against “humiliating treatment” in prison, reported Huffington Post.
Relatives said that El Haqed (also spelled: Lhaqed. Real name: Mouad Belghouat) undergoes considerable psychological pressure from the staff of the prison.
On 1 July 2014, El Haqed was sentenced to four months in prison by a court in the suburbs of Casablanca. His lawyers had withdrawn in protest against the conditions of the trial.
