Iran: National Cinema Day removed from the Iranian calendar

‘National Cinema Day’, held annually in Iran on 12 September for the past 13 years, has been removed from the Iranian calendar, reported the Iranian Students’ News Agency via Small Media in London.

Mansoor Vaezi, the Secretary of the Public Culture Council, claimed that the omission was due to the Iranian calendar becoming too “overloaded”, and Cinema Day will now be “added to the end of calendar as a supplement”.
